Re: Wetsuit action movie

The Aquasphere video is hilarious! I love the wetsuits and the funny acts they get up to. Especially with the London Olympics in the background.

Thanks for sharing.

Noooooo idea what size it is, so I wouldn't know if I should buy it or not
Can always ask. I'm tempted to ask.

Wetsuit fantasies

What do you dream of? What would be on your fantasy list if nothing is impossible? A job that requires wearing wetsuits, like a jetpack performer, waterskii performer, jetski rider, watersports instructor or supervisor, diver, lifeguard at waterpark/beach. You and your colleagues get to suit up and ...

Re: Wetsuits you're currently lusting after.

Here's one for sale, but not local to me:

I'm also tempted to get the new Orca 3.8. Nice suits, but the 3.8 is rather pricey.

Some I really like, and some are just so ugly
Me too! Sometimes plain black is the safest colour choice.

Wetsuit colour

Most suits these days tend to be just black, or black with some coloured panels or printed graphics. But go back a decade or two and you'll find suits with brightly coloured panels (usually the shoulder and legs). Like the older Billabong SGX, Ripcurl Ebomb or Oneill Hammer. Go back further and some...

If I could go back in time and buy an Orca Speedsuit, I would do that in a heart beat. If only that was a real life thing
Find a used one. But some of the newer Orcas aren't that bad. I quite like the current range, only if I can afford.

Re: Size and Thickness?

Try it on in a store. It's fun and the only way to be sure of the fit. Just avoid a store that has the heating turned way too hot. That can get nasty. I'm going to guess the S6 MT for you will probably be 'painful and tight' or impossible to get into. I had trouble even though I'm smaller than the s...

Re: Movie/TV costumes

I recently went to a comic con and out of all the costumes I've seen, I'm tempted to get a Deadpool costume myself. There's something about being concealed inside and pulling off wacky Deadpool poses. One of my friends wore a wetsuit painted red and added a cape to make it into a Robin costume. Look...

Re: your wetsuits

I got the Orca TRN too (but mine's red). It's a great suit - cheap, thin, stretchy and smooth on the outside. Go for the tri wetsuits if you like the smoothskin finish (warning, it's addictive). I also have surf wetsuits (Billabong Foil and Xero). They're a different kettle of fish. Not smooth on th...

Re: I am getting a rubber suit!

Nothing beats trying stuff on. Size charts can be unreliable, but at least rubber is stretchy enough to shoehorn into (with lube, that can be fun to slip and slide!) Like wetsuits, you want them snug, not loose. If you go custom, follow their instructions and measure accurately, ideally multiple tim...

Re: New leathers

Looks good so far, but feels much better once you have the boots and gloves. Makes riding much more comfortable and safer too, when everything sits perfectly on the bike. I rode pillion once on a Harley Davidson. The boots worked a treat, but not having gloves at the time meant my hands got way too ...

Re: New leathers

Did just go out a walk in your full kit or something then? It was cold and rainy outside so I went out in my black leather jacket, black tshirt, black leather pants, tall harness boots and gloves to stay dry. Caught the bus downtown to visit a few touristy places. A few people asked if I rode a mot...

Thanks Gordon.

It looks nice! Did you get matching gloves and boots too?

I just went out today in my full kit. A few people asked if I rode a motorbike.
