Wetsuit Repair

Post by ifitz » Mon May 12, 2014 4:56 pm

So I got a wetsuit a few years ago and it has split in the neck. Right down the middle. Toss it or fix it? I love it and want to fix it, but how?

When I worked in a shop that sold fishing tackle, there used to be some stuff called Aquasure that fishermen use to fix their neoprene waders.

From what I remember of the stuff, it was a bit like fixing a bike tyre - glue on a patch.

Could be worth a try.

I'll look it up. What about superglue?

Don't use superglue... get some wetsuit cement and follow the directions. If it's a large tear in a higher stress area you may want to use a second piece of thin neoprene glued behind the tear to strengthen it
