Any experience with Zipperless Wetsuits ?

Post by BlackWetsuit1982 » Tue Sep 05, 2017 10:56 pm

Like the Topic said ... Has anyone here any experience with Zipperless Wetsuits ?

Few Years ago i have tried the Xcel Infinity Hooded Neopren - Wetsuit on the Interboot in Friedrichshafen / Germany. It was very nice and warm and tight ... but what I'm interested in is how Zipperless models can be worn? I've never owned one before. I have so far only neoprene suits with zipper, like the " Original " Orca Speedsuit. So I have set myself on unfamiliar terrain. I´ve done it and bought Me a suit now, which will come the next days.

It will be the Rip Curl - 4 / 3mm - E BOMB - Zipperless Wetsuit " without Hood " 8)

If someone has one, no matter which manufacturer, ask for experience

Greetings Tom

I have the Suit now

It is a Kind of smooth skin neopren like the Orca Speedsuit, but not so smoothly glossy. But you are right Tiger ... when I looked at him in the car I thought ... coming in is not a thing but how to undress? I think I have to practice

I have tried the Suit now ... i could put it on completly

It is a very nice, enclosed Feeling without any zipper on the Chest or in the Back, but i must say the same like You :( I took good 30 - 40 min to take of the Suit for the first Time, because of the very skin tight sleeves. And by the fact that you sweat in it, it is significantly more difficult to get off the skin tight rubber from the skin.

But now i need the matching neoprene hood from the same Brand like the Suit, so i look on the INTERBOOT 2017 8) and then i must buy Diver goggles and fins again. So i can put on the Suit with neoprene Shoes and Gloves. After that i go to the same lake as I was with the Orca Speedsuit last Summer. Then I'll go for a little dive

I hope my Friend can make Pictures :D

Yes it should be a plan !

Unfortunately, there were no separate neoprene hoods on the Interboot ... only complete suits :( But the smell of neoprene was terrific  Now i must look where i can get one

Never even heard about them,it's weird, since I'm working at a surf school, like 12 years now.

A bit curious on how to put one on.
Would they be like Shirt and pants? Very flexible neoprene of sorts?
What type of sports they are used for?

That sounds amazing. Does anyone have a few supperless wetsuits (the smoother and shiniest the better) they could reccomend?

Also the idea of being locked in one of those by accident or on purpose sounds pretty hot

This is an old video, but shows how one piece zipperless surf suits work. Skip to 4:45 to see how to put one on. They're like chest zip suits, but they're soo incredibly stretchy they can do away with zips! Much stretchier than my chest zip suit. But I hear they can be trickier than chest zips to get out of (and I struggle a bit).

There's also 2-piece spearfishing (lined outside) and freediving suits (smooth outside) which are also "zipperless". They consist of pants/long john and jacket with a beaver tail between the legs. Some even have an attached hood.
